IV Vitamin Therapy
IV nutrients can be an effective way to get vitamins and minerals into the body with better absorption and in much higher concentrations than typical oral supplements. It is often given to people with absorption issues (ie. Crohn’s, colitis), for immune system benefits, to increase energy, and for busy people who struggle with taking daily vitamins!
Types of vitamins administered are: vitamin B5, vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, and more.
What to expect
First: An initial IV Prep appointment must be booked with Dr. Brennan, ND for people who are not already a naturopathic patient. She will review consent and what to expect prior to booking your first IV drip. If you wish for a complete naturopathic assessment please book an initial naturopathic appointment and Dr. Brennan, ND can discuss IV therapy at that time.
Are you already a patient of Dr. Brennans? Call the clinic to book a 15 minute follow up appointment to review consent.
Next: The following bloodwork must be done within the last 2 years prior to an IV appointment:
complete blood count (CBC)
electrolytes
kidney function
liver function.
Copies can be obtained from health facilities with your consent. Unfortunately IV vitamin therapy cannot be administered without this bloodwork.
Then: You can book an IV appointment by calling our reception team at 506-632-9000.
Before your appointment: IV vitamin appointments take up to 1 hour. Make sure you eat and drink plenty of fluids 1-3 hours before your IV drip.
