Originally from Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Marcus completed his Bachelor’s of Movement Science in Sports Medicine at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts, while playing NCAA ice hockey. He then went on to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During his time at Dalhousie University, he was a student trainer for the Halifax Wolverines U15 AAA ice hockey team and the U-16 Team Nova Scotia male ice hockey team at the QMJHL cup in Moncton, NB. Marcus maintains an evidence-based approach to physiotherapy and stays current with new advancements in physiotherapy practice. His treatment approach uses education, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy, paired with collaboration with each individual to identify their personal goals and create a tailored treatment plan to help improve their quality of life.

Growing up, Marcus played competitive ice hockey and played Junior A in New Brunswick for the St. Stephen County Aces and NCAA at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts. He still maintains an active role in hockey, coaching the local Southern Sting and playing in local city leagues.

Outside of hockey, Marcus maintains an active lifestyle through trail and road running and enjoys playing various sports. Marcus also works on the Neurosurgery unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
